Training on International Water Law and Instruments – 22 to 25 August 2017, Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo.

WaterNet on behalf of the SADC Water Division with funding from the cooperation of the German and British Governments through the delegated authority of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, held a training on International Water Law and Instruments including UN Articles on Groundwater, 22 – 25 August 2017, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The main objectives of the training were to have:

  • Member State officials appreciate the provisions and instruments provided for by international water law in general, and
  • in particular the SADC Revised Protocol on Shared Watercourses and the 1997 United Nations Convention on Transboundary Watercourses.

Participants in the training were from Francophone countries in the SADC region.
