The Cap-Net virtual campus announces the launch of the course “Evaluación de la Huella de Agua, ISO 14.046” (Water Footprint Assessment, ISO 14,046) in Spanish language. The main goal of the course is to promote technical skills in carrying out, evaluating, and interpreting water footprint assessments according to ISO 14046.
This online course is a contribution to improve the capacities and assessment of water in the region, sponsored by the Global Water Program of the Swiss Embassy in Colombia – SDC and product of the collaboration with Cap-Net PNUD and the National Cleaner Production Center (Colombia), SuizAgua Latin America and Quantis.
The online course responds to a global growing demand for tools that allow organisations to improve water management. The organisations’ interest in methodologies with international validity and recognition among stakeholders increases every day, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean. This training course provides them with the tools for them to quantify the impacts that their activities generate on water resources.
The ISO 14046 standard published in 2014 is presented as an option to assess the potential impact of products, services or organisations on water in a comprehensive way, since it considers both quantity and quality with a life cycle approach.
The course is self-paced. 150 positions are open at no costs to take this course as of Monday, July 6. It must be completed before Friday, October 16, 2020. Participants will have access to the course content, but they will no longer be able to advance in their modules or have the possibility of completing the course and get a certificate from October 17, 2020.
