SDG 6 Support Programme

About the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme
The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme assists governments in designing and implementing country-led responses based on SDG indicator 6.5.1 — the degree of implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). It is designed to accelerate progress towards the achievement of water-related SDGs and other development goals, in line with national priorities.
Under the guidance of UNEP, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme is executed in close collaboration with the Global Water Partnership, as well as Cap-Net and other key partners. The Support Programme has been instrumental in assisting countries in undertaking the SDG 6.5.1 reporting and monitoring exercises in 2017, 2020 and 2023, as a first step to identifying key areas and opportunities for action.
