Peri-urban Water Conflicts: Perspectives & Issues of Water Justice in South Asia, 23-25 May at Taj Vivanta, Hyderabad, India

The Peri-urban Water Conflicts workshop aims at building capacity for researchers and development practitioners, investigating issues of water justice in the context of peri-urban South Asia. The water justice issues include water rights, including right to water and equity, as key features of ongoing water governance requirements in the region. The workshop envisages to train more than 50 professionals/ researchers/ academicians/ students from south Asia.

The workshop is conceptualized and proposed under the aegis of International Waters Network partnership project funded by SSHRC. The collaborators for the project are (1) South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs); (2) Society for Promoting Participative Ecosystem Management (SOPPECOM); (3) Forum for Policy Dialogue on Water Conflicts in India and; (4) SaciWATERs-Cap-Net Network (SCaN).
