17th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWPSA Symposium

Preparations for the 17^th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWPSA Symposium are currently underway. The event will be held in Gaborone, Botswana from the 26^th – 28^th October 2016 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre. The theme for this year’s symposium is Integrated Water Resources Management: Water Security, Sustainability and Development in Eastern and Africa Southern.

The Okavango Research Institute, University of Botswana is the lead institute. The local organizing committee (LOC) has been put in place and is being chaired by Prof. W.R.L Masamba from the Okavango Research Institute. The committee is also comprised of representatives from relevant government ministries, parastatals, NGOs and the private sector. The LOC held its first meeting on the 27^th and 28^th January 2016 where various issues were discussed which included the theme, venue, LOC positions and sub-committees.
