Who we areThe Capacity Development Latin American Network for Integrated Water Management is a regional network that offers high-quality capacity development services on integrated and sustainable water management and access to water and sanitation in the context of climate change. LA-WETnet is made up of institutions and people whose background and experience are well recognized in the region. Our mission is: Build a network of organizations and people dedicated to teaching, research, and water management, to strengthen the capacities of the various interest groups in Latin America, for sustainable water management and improved access to water and to sanitation, contributing to health, environmental protection, and poverty reduction in the region.
Network highlights, achievementsAt present, more than 250 members have updated their information in the registration form. 45% are women.About 1000 institutions and people regularly receive our newsletter with information about the main activities related to IWRM, which are developed by the members of the network.Since 2003, more than 100 capacity building activities have been carried out, many of them face-to-face courses. In 2016, virtual courses were started in collaboration with the Cap-Net PNUD Virtual Campus. The number of virtual courses is growing up year by year, and It is becoming one of the main actions of the network.
