Collaborative actions for peace & conflict prevention in shared waters

Monday, 26 August | 11:00 CET | In-person and Online

There is an urgent need for cooperation over shared water resources. Drawing from the experiences of Somalia, Uganda and Iraq, this session will focus on setting a common understanding of both the shared and unique challenges each country must overcome regarding water scarcity, management and its role in fostering peace and security.

Multi-scale groundwater strategies in Africa - supporting innovation

Guest speaker, Dr. Jenny Gronwall is a facilitator for the Groundwater Resources Management online course and was instrumental in the team that developed the groundbreaking manual "A Human Rights-Based Approach to IWRM", which later spawned an online course.


Innovative tools and approaches for hydro-climatic risk management (IDMP)

Co-convenor, IDMP disseminates scientific knowledge and best practices towards implementing Integrated Drought Management in the Drought Risk Management manual and their suite of Early Warning and Monitoring courses.


Adapting to Climate Change: Innovative Approaches to Water Governance

Co-convenor, Water Integrity Network provides resources to overlay water governance with an integrity framework, through its Integrity Basics online course.
