The course Integrated Basins Management is organised within the framework of AECID’s Plan for the Transfer, Exchange and Management of Knowledge for the Development of Spanish Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean -INTERCOONECTA. It will be held from 13 September to 5 November on the Spanish Agency of Cooperation for Development (AECID) Intercoonecta platform. Professionals can register until 23 August.
The programme will be delivered in Spanish and it intends:
- To know about the conceptual framework and the evolution that the basin management has taken over time.
- To learn about the organizational structures that make it possible to achieve effective water governance in the basin.
- To present assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring tools that contributes to effective integrated basins management.
- To learn from the experiences of the participants and case studies showed during the course.
Who can join?
Governmental and civil society stakeholders involved in water resources management at the basin level, with emphasis on members of basin councils or equivalent organisations, authorities and technicians responsible for water management at the governmental level at different scales, national, subnational and local, non-governmental organisations and the academic sector.
The online course Integrated Basins Management is organised by the Latin American Network of Water Resources Management Knowledge Centers (RALCEA); the Conference of Ibero-American Water Directors (CODIA) and the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID); with the collaboration of the Cooperation Fund for Water and Sanitation (FCAS); the International Network of Capacity Development for Sustainable Water Management (Cap-Net UNDP); the Latin American Network of Capacity Development for Integrated Water Management (LA-WETnet); the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the UNESCO Chair in Water and Education for Sustainable Development.
