The course will be implement by Africa Groundwater Network (AGW-Net), in collaboration with GRIPP and BGR.
The content will be adapted from the training manual on groundwater management developed together with Cap-Net and partners. Taking advantage of the gathering of experts at Africa Water Week, the course will be a one-day event with sessions and interactive discussion.
The course aims to:
- promote sustainable groundwater resources management within the framework of IWRM in RBOs
- make groundwater resources in Africa more “visible” to water managers who are required to manage it sustainably
- raise awareness on the importance of groundwater resource to Africa, and especially in light of the growing impacts of climate change and the SDGs
The workshop is targeting river basin and water Ministries staffs or high level profile actors in international/national Agencies, NGOs who are interested in water management and protection.
