Workshop on Toxic Algal Bloom in Rajangana Reservoir in the Kala Oya Basin

A One-Day awareness workshop was held on the 20th June 2019 at the National Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Training Institute (NIFATI), Kalawewa for Irrigation Engineers, Agriculture Officers, Water Managers, Aquaculturists, Environmental Officers, Livestock Managers etc. on the issue of algal bloom in one of the major irrigation reservoirs in the northcentral province. The programme was sponsored by the Environmental and Water Pollution Project (EWPP) and conducted by Water Resources Science and Technology (WRST). Prof. Ivan Silva coordinate the programme.

Dr. S. Pathmarajah, Country Coordinator, Cap-Net Lanka and Dr. (Ms.) Indika Gunawardena, Capacity Development Analyst, Cap-Net UNDP were invited for the event.
