THE WSTA 11TH GULF WATER CONFERENCE “Water in the GCC … Towards Efficient Management” – 20 to 22 October 2014, Muscat, Oman.

The 11th Gulf Water Conference (GWC) organised by The Water Sciences and Technology Association (WSTA) of Oman took place between 20 and 22 of October 2014 in Muscat with the theme “Water in the GCC… Towards Efficient Management”. The main objective of this conference is to raise awareness on the importance of policy and decision making on towards sustainable water management in the GCC countries.

Cap-Net UNDP Director, Dr. Themba Gumbo attended this conference as a participant while Dr. Ralf Klingbeil Network coordinator of AWARENET, delivered a keynote session on “Managed Aquifer Recharge-Aquifer Storage and Recovery: Regional Experience and Needs for Further Cooperation and Knowledge Exchange in the Arab region”. Cap-Net UNDP through its Director, Dr. Themba Gumbo and AWARENET Network Coordinator, Dr. Ralf Klingbeil presented the combined global and regional capacity development approach to the conference participants on 22 October 2024.
