Objectives:
CapNet Bangladesh was launched in March 2004. At a meeting organised by BCAS the mission and vision were identified.
The network is a unique and innovative approach for sustainable development. The South Asian nodal point is SaciWATERs in India.
Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), and Integrated Water and Flood Management (IWFM) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) are being working together towards launching Bangladesh Chapter of CapNet to facilitate and promoting interdisciplinary approaches to conceptualizing, planning and implementing water resource development in the country.
Outputs:
- Preparation of a Core Group Profile, emphasizing the key experiences of the water sector
- Preparation of a Bangladesh Water Sector Directory
- Publication of IWRM materials
- Organisation of a workshop on the IWRM concept and practices in Bangladesh
- Organisation of a training workshop on project/research proposal writing.
